May is a highlight on the whisky calendar. Three festivals compete for visitors and attention: the Speyside Festival, the Campbeltown Festival, and the Islay Whisky Festival.

We will be tasting whiskies from all three regions, including special festival bottlings. At the same time, we want to explore how relevant the division of the Scottish whisky world into regions still is today. Is it a good tradition, clever tourism marketing, or the Scottish version of terroir? And what is your opinion? We look forward to a fun evening with some lively discussion!

Join us for a canal boat tour and whisky tasting on a beautiful early summer evening in Utrecht.
From The Malt Vault we will embark on a scenic journey through the picturesque canals of Utrecht, enjoying the breathtaking views and vibrant atmosphere. As we sail, you will have the chance to enjoy a selection of our exquisite Society cask whiskies!

Please note that we rely on the weather to allow the boat tour to commence. Should the weather prevent us from exploring Utrecht, the tasting will commence in the Malt Vault and we will conquer the canals another time.
